|The magnificent cliffs near Kilkee|
In June, Debashish had to attend a function in Kilkee, a village in county Clare, Ireland . Aaditya ,our son who was visiting, and I took the chance to accompany him to see a bit of Ireland. We tagged along and look what we found!
Kilkee is situated on a little finger of land on the western coast, on the Atlantic ocean.
We followed directions of a ‘scenic drive’ and were stunned by the beauty of the Irish coast. You see, we had visited the iconic Cliffs of Moher earlier in the year . They are ,well, iconic, but had left us not too impressed not least because of all its tourist trappings. But here, in Clare, I think, is beauty worth recording. The intense green that covers the tops of the cliffs remains unblemished by any salty air and little clusters of pink flowers bloom in profusion. They are called, as far as I can make out, ‘sea campions’. And the cliffs rising high out of the sea are magnificent.

Kilkee remains close to my heart on account of another reason. I will write about it in a few days.
See you soon !
