A ‘vision’ in Malin Head and other views

Last week,I was happy to visit Donegal,in the north of the Republic of Ireland. (different from Northern Ireland-which, for those of you  unfamiliar with this area, is part of Britain). By north I mean also the northern-most part of Ireland- Malin Head.

The drive to Malin Head under overcast skies

Debashish had a couple of meetings in Donegal and we drove to this part of the county to visit friends who have their summer home there. With them we were able to see an amazingly remote part of Ireland which we may not otherwise have visited .
There were times in that countryside, especially as I stood on a rough boulder at the edge of the sea or in the middle of  peat grasslands, that I felt that I was, perhaps, the only person in this world.

A sign of life- a house on the ocean edge
The sky and the light in this country are a delight. The former is often overcast so when the sun breaks out -the light and landscape can look ethereal.
